Welcome!

Hello and welcome! I cannot even begin to describe just how excited I am to be a student teacher this year. I have wanted to be a teacher since I was five years old, so please excuse me if I sound overly enthusiastic. ;)

I am currently a senior at the University of Memphis, so I will be a graduate this time next year which is so hard to believe. I feel like I just graduated high school! Speaking of high school, I was in public school up until my sophomore year when my parents decided to homeschool me. It was an excellent decision because that's how I met my husband. We were in the same art class that year and became best friends which of course turned into more. We dated from the age of sixteen until we married at twenty. :)

This picture explains my always-all-the-time-super-happy perfectly.
We also have a cat named Peanut who is precious and hilarious. I'm more of a dog person, but I'll take a cat (who honestly acts like a dog) over no animal any day.

My hobbies include drawing and reading. I think reading is very important for students to learn in the classroom because when I was in elementary school I did not like reading. I did not know that there were good books to read because my teachers did not present books in a fun and exciting way. I view books as a way to explore the world around you and learn important life lessons. I have created a new hobby of finding books that my students will love as well as learn from. I particularly enjoy the book Todd's TV and The Music of Dolphins.

I also have an Etsy and Teachers pay Teachers shop; I've enjoyed working on these this summer. Etsy allows me to be creative without breaking the bank and Teachers pay Teachers has really helped me tweak lesson plans to perfection so my students can have the education they deserve.

I hope that through this blog I can document the lesson plans and units my students learn from in order to perfect the plans and help out other teachers as well. This year will focus primarily on my adventures in student teaching but I hope to create content I can use next year when I am on my own.

Thanks for visiting!
